After a two-week stay on top of the German charts, Alex Clare's "Too
Close" has to move down to #2 due to the arrival of the finalist from
the latest edition of Deutschland sucht den Superstar. As recent history
has shown, it would be extremely difficult for winner Luca Hänni to
have a chart career bar his current number one single "Don't Think About Me". At the same time,
runner-up Daniele Negroni's
rendition of the same song charts at #4. Last year it was Pietro
Lombardi who finished first in the Dieter Bohlen's casting show and
though he started his career with massive sales, last single "Goin’ to
L.A." peaked at #22, staying in the top 100 for just six weeks.
Iceland's band Of Monsters And Men bring very welcome fresh winds in
the top ten as their catchy "Little Talks" rises this week to #7 from #12.
The time has also come for worldwide smash Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me
Maybe" to storm the German charts. The single appears at #12, which is a
far cry from the #1 status reached in the UK.
Already a superstar globally Pitbull's title track from the soundtrack
of Men In Black 3 enters new at #13. It is his fourth single as a lead
artist to reach the top 20. His last, "International Love", reached #21.
Though it has been a decade since Simple Plan have started releasing singles, it
is actually Sean Paul's presence on their latest to help the US
band have a first top 20 song in Germany. "Summer Paradise" enters at #16,
beating the #25 peak of "Shut Up!" from 2005.
Since "Schöne neue Welt" in 2009 German group Culcha Candela have never missed the top 20. The positive trend continues with their latest "Von allein" which this week finds its place at #20. It's Culcha Candela's 12th top 20 single in the country.
And the remaining new entries:
44. T-Pain feat. Ne-Yo - Turn All The Lights On - T-Pain has had only two singles going inside the top 100, including this Ne-Yo collaboration, which improves a lot on the #91 peak of "5 O'Clock".
62. Der König tanzt - Alles dreht sich
66. Stanfour - Learning To Breathe
85. David Guetta - The Alphabeat
97. Coldplay & Rihanna - Princess Of China
The Album Chart
In the album countdown Die Ärzte and Unheilig continue to dominate at #1 and #2, respectively, despite the arrival of six new entries at positions three to eight. These are the latest from Norah Jones, Of Monsters And Men, Marilyn Manson, Donots, Lionel Richie and Mandy Capristo.
