German Chart Comments - Issue Date 22.07.2016

It's a third week on top for Imany and "Don't Be So Shy", followed once again by Kungs vs. Cookin' On 3 Burners and "This Girl", with the two tracks competing for being the definite anthem of summer 2016. Also in the running is Alle Farben feat. YOUNOTUS and "Please Tell Rosie", with the song inching up one to join the top three for the first time. Last year Alle Farben (or Frans Zimmer) and YOUNOTUS already had a top-three hit in the shape of "Supergirl", the new take on the Reamonn's modern classic with the participation of Anna Naklab, which peaked at #2.
At #5, up two, we can find "Ain't Your Mama" of Jennifer Lopez, which believe it or not becomes the third most successful single of the superstar in Germany (in terms of chart positions) by matching the #5 peak of her debut "If You Have My Love". She was only once higher than that - in 2011 with #1 smash "On The Floor".
Swedish dance duo Galantis score their first ever top-ten hit in Germany with "No Money" as the song moves up one to #10 in its 13th week in the chart.

Also on their way up we have "Sing Me To Sleep" of Alan Walker, up six to #12, and "Treat You Better" of Shawn Mendes, up eleven to #13.
For a change this week we have a new entry directly inside the top 20. It belongs to local rapper Shindy, who is ready with his fourth solo album. The pilot single is called "Roli" and arrives at #14, to become Shindy's most successful song so far, beating the #19 peak of "Stress ohne Grund" from 2013.
Canadian band The Strumbellas finally go inside the top 20 with "Spirits" climbing five to #18 in its tenth week. Enrique Iglesias also joins the top 20 with his latest offering "Duele el Corazon". It rises seven to #20 and is thus his 14th top-20 single in Germany.

Mike Perry's "The Ocean", up four to #21, and Robin Shulz' "Heatwave", up three to #30, also mark new peak positions this week. Robin's colleague Felix Jaehn has released a new single with "Bonfire" (feat. Alma) coming in at #32.
At #34, up from #56, US metal band Disturbed reverse the downward trend of their hit "Sound of Silence", which has finally made the guys famous around the globe after being active for more or less 20 years. Of course, the song covers Simon & Garfunkel's classic from 1965, which had reached #9 in Germany in the old chart days.
The Other New Entries:
#40. Bonez MC & RAF Camora - Palmen aus Plastik
#71. Britney Spears ft. G-Eazy - Make Me
#80. 5 Seconds Of Summer - Girls Talk Boys
#95. Deorro ft. Elvis Crespo - Bailar

The Album Chart
In the Album Chart local singer Laith Al-Deen debuts directly at the top with his new album "Bleib unterwegs" - his second offering so far to crown the LP countdown. Also new inside the top five we can find Alvaro Soler and his debut album "Eterno Agosto", home of summer hit "Sofia", at #5.

German Chart Comments - Issue Date 8.07.2016

It was expected in the last few weeks and now the time for Imany's summer anthem "Don’t Be So Shy" to finally crown the German singles chart has come. The song, remixed by Russian DJs Filatov and Karas, rises one to #1 to add Germany to the list of European countries whose charts have already been taken over, including France (peak #2) and most of eastern Europe. It is the first ever song of the French singer to enter the German top 100.
Watch - Imany

This leaves "This Girl" of Kungs Vs. Cookin' On 3 Burner down one to #2 after being at the summit for three non-consecutive weeks, while the top three is completed by David Guetta feat. Zara Larsson and "This One's For You", which stick to #3.

It's good to see Jennifer Lopez back in the top ten as her "Ain't Your Mama" rises three to #8. It becomes the ninth top ten single of the superstar in Germany after she was last that high in 2014 with her Pitbull collaboration "We Are One (Ole Ole)" (peak #6).
