German Chart Comments - Issue Date 25.07

As expected, this week's chart reflects the sales during Germany winning the World Cup, which had an impact, albeit not so big, on the listing. As a whole, however, it is one of the slowest and dullest charts of the year so far, with the highest new entry coming in as low as #63.

So, as it has become an unofficial anthem for the World Cup, Andreas Bourani's "Auf uns" returns this week to #1, up from #2. Twelve weeks ago the song debuted at #1 but gave up the summit quite easily. Also rising on the back of the football tournament is "Au Revoir" of Mark Forster and Sido, which returns to #2 from #4.

The top three is completed by OneRepublic and "Love Runs Out", still at #3.

After five weeks at #1, Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz this time have to fall to #4 with "Prayer in C", while Helene Fischer's "Atemlos durch die Nacht" climbs four to #5 in its 30th week in the top 10.

German Chart Comments - Issue Date 18.07

Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz spend a fifth week at #1 with "Prayer In C", while Andreas Bourani and his "Auf uns" climbs one to #2. The latter has turned into an unofficial anthem for the success of Germany's football team at the World Cup in Brazil and therefore its chances to return to number one in the next week are actually quite big. However, Mark Forster and Sido have made a special version of "Au Revoir" to commemorate the winning of the tournament, so, despite falling this week to #4, from #2, the single will also be a real contender for the next number one in the country. Let's not also write off the chances of OneRepublic and their "Love Runs Out", which enters the top three by rising one to #3 and becomes the fourth top- three single of the stars. The song thus matches the #3 peaks of "Secrets" and "Counting Stars".

Sigma's "Nobody To Love" is currently one of the few songs which is making any impact on the rather slow chart as it moves four to #8, while "Atemlos durch die Nacht" of Helene Fischer spends its amazing 29 week in the top 10 at #9... And will not go down easily.

John Legend's "All Of Me" has been 22 weeks in total in the Top 100 but that does not stop the hit to score a new peak at #13, up from #18.

Another week and another German rapper scoring the biggest new entry with his debut single before disappearing from the chart in the next week or two. The song in question this time around is called "Wölfe" and belongs to Kontra K, who enters at #19.
