German Chart Comments - Issue Date 18.07

Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz spend a fifth week at #1 with "Prayer In C", while Andreas Bourani and his "Auf uns" climbs one to #2. The latter has turned into an unofficial anthem for the success of Germany's football team at the World Cup in Brazil and therefore its chances to return to number one in the next week are actually quite big. However, Mark Forster and Sido have made a special version of "Au Revoir" to commemorate the winning of the tournament, so, despite falling this week to #4, from #2, the single will also be a real contender for the next number one in the country. Let's not also write off the chances of OneRepublic and their "Love Runs Out", which enters the top three by rising one to #3 and becomes the fourth top- three single of the stars. The song thus matches the #3 peaks of "Secrets" and "Counting Stars".

Sigma's "Nobody To Love" is currently one of the few songs which is making any impact on the rather slow chart as it moves four to #8, while "Atemlos durch die Nacht" of Helene Fischer spends its amazing 29 week in the top 10 at #9... And will not go down easily.

John Legend's "All Of Me" has been 22 weeks in total in the Top 100 but that does not stop the hit to score a new peak at #13, up from #18.

Another week and another German rapper scoring the biggest new entry with his debut single before disappearing from the chart in the next week or two. The song in question this time around is called "Wölfe" and belongs to Kontra K, who enters at #19.

Though "Fancy", despite a global hit, has stalled in Germany just outside the top 50, the other Iggy Azalea hit of the moment - "The Problem" rises five to #20. The song, of course, is credited to Ariana Grande

Martin Tungevaag is also on the rise as his dance track "Wicked Wonderland" is steadily going towards the top ten, rising to #22 from #40.

The LP chart

In the LP chart, the "Sing Meinen Song-Das Tauschkonzert" compilation continues to lead the listing, followed once again by Ed Sheeran's "X" at #2. As there are still people who do not own "Farbenspiel" of Helene Fischer, it rises one to #3. The debut album of local rapper Sierra Kidd, called "Nirgendwer", enters at #6, German punkrock band Serum 114 is new with "Kopfüber ins Nichts" at #10 - a career best.
