Бел Ами / Bel Ami - Although it's always nice to see movies, and especially non-action stuff, from non-major studios released in Bulgaria, the fact that these films are actually no good should not be concealed. So thus comes this Guy de Maupassant-novel adaptation with Robert Pattinson in the leading role. To say that Pattinson has no acting skills would be a lie but he's definitely miscast in the role of amoral Georges Duroy. His performance is extremely stiff, which coupled with the cardboard characters around him, deprives the picture of any merits. The three leading ladies Thurman, Ricci and Scott Thomas, though good elsewhere, here do not deliver anything worth remembering, which, let's say it, is talent wasted. This all
leads to too rushed and too far-fetched third act, which leaves the viewer with the bitter feeling of a missed opportunity for a great novel adaptation. The
