German Chart Comments - Issue Date 6.04

So, finally after a nine-week dominance Michel Teló's "Ai se eu te pego!" gives up the throne and slips to #4. It's a proof of the saying that reward comes to the patient ones as after spending several weeks inside the top three British sensation Olly Murs finally conquers the top spot with his catchy, though now extremely old, "Heart Skips A Beat".

Olly is followed by two new entries directly inside the top three. First its Cro's "Easy" at #2. This is the debut single of rapper Cro, a local newcomer whose music gained in popularity over the internet in the past few months.

Boosting the strong presence of local talent in the chart, rock veterans Die Toten Hosen return to the rankings with "Tage wie diese" at #3. The band was last in the chart in 2009 with the live version of "Der letzte Kuss".  Tage wie diese" easily becomes Die Toten Hosen's second biggest hit ever next to their number one, the now classic "Zehn kleine Jägermeister".

After "Hey, Soul Sister" peaked at #7 in 2010, US band Train returns to the countdown with a new material at #8. Who'd have thought that after "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" flopped at #73 in 2001, the guys will have two top ten singles now. "Drive By" is the pilot single of their "California 37" LP.

At #14 local band Kraftklub has finally made it inside the top 20 as their second single "Songs für Liam" soars 30 positions.

At #20 Katy Perry adds another top 20 single in her career with "Part Of Me". The song is her ninth hit to made it among the first 20, with only "The One That Got Away" (peak #34) and "Waking Up in Vegas" (peak #33) going outside it.

Strangely, though initially promoted at the beginning of the year, Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die", the follow-up to #1 smash "Video Games", was allowed to enter the chart just now. So perhaps there should be no surprised for its entering at #29. Fingers crossed Lana turns into no one-hit wonder.

The Overtones are a UK doo-wop boy group, who, somewhat surprisingly, has made it in the top 30 in Germany as "Gambling Man" can be found at #30.

And the remaining new entries with videos:

37. BAP & Clueso - All die Augenblicke - It's a strange collaboration between veterans BAP and hot new star Clueso, but it has allowed for BAP's return in the 40 since "Aff un zo" peaked at #28 in 2001.

40. Justin Bieber - Boyfriend - And the Bieber continues to lack a top ten single in Germany...
Video
79. Scooter - It's A Biz (Ain't Nobody) - The Scooter fall into oblivion continues. Unfortunately. And VIVA continues to not play them.
Video
92. Jupiter Jones feat. Chapeau Claque - Nordpol / Südpol - One-hit wonder status cemented or not?

The Album Chart

Despite the arrival of heavy-weights Silbermond's "Himmel auf" at #2; Madonna's "MDNA" at #3, Iron Maiden's "En vivo!" at #4 and Roxette's "Travelling" at #7, it's Unheilig who continue to rule them all. The Graf and co are just unmovable...
