Bulgarian Box Office Update - Weekend 30 March - 1 April

Flying on top of the box office, the Greek style

After abandoning cinemas for the previous weekend, Bulgarians seem to have come back this time around. Therefore, despite the arrival of the mighty titans at #1, all other movies show stable results and many of them, including last week disappointments - The Lorax and Mirror Mirror, even register increases.

This leads us to the #1 slot, easily taken by Wrath of The Titans with BGN 194,225. It's a steady result but a far cry from the BGN 455,644 registered by Clash of The Titans two years ago. The fall may be attributed to the fact that 3D is not such a novelty any more and maybe to the disappointment of many with part one.

This week the top ten is left by Journey to The Mysterious Island. The sequel to The Journey to The Centre of The Earth has made BGN 515,772, which is quite monstrous by its standard. The first Journey ended its run with USD 348,722 - which is more or less the same. 

Compared to my projections, Wrath of The Titans was higher than my BGN 158,000 forecast but having in mind how many had projected BGN 350,000, I was still close.

Titanic 3D - BGN 35,000

Pirates! - BGN 35,000
