German Chart Comments - Issue Date 30.03

Michel Teló makes a ninth week on the top in Germany with his "Ai se eu te pego!", turning into one of the long-running number one singles for the latest decade. Olly Murs still has to contend himself with the #2, while the highest new entry is at #3.

Continuing the tradition from last year, Mike Candys' latest track comes to prove once again that Germans are well into dance music lately. "2012 (If The World Would End)" thus turns into the biggest successful single of the Swiss DJ after "One Night in Ibiza" peaked at #11 last year.

Inside the top 20 curious new peak positions from Deichkind's "Bück dich hoch" at #11 (up from #12), Stefanie Heinzmann's "Diggin' In The Dirt" at #12 (up from #16) and Caligola's "Forgive Forget" at #16 (up from #32).

The second highest new entry belongs to German duo Glasperlenspiel. "Ich bin ich" is the second single of the short career of Carolin and Daniel and comes after "Echt" reached #8 last year. Unfortunately the new song misses the top 30 and for now can be found at #32.

Following multiplatinum sales of his Unplugged album, Udo Lindenberg takes a third single out of it. Thus "Reeperbahn 2011 (What It's Like)" enters at #37. In comparison "Ein Herz kann man nicht reparieren" peaked at #11 and "Cello" managed #4.

The Album Chart

In the album chart Unheilig's newest album "Lichter der Stadt" easily tops the chart. The LP comes after "Große Freiheit" spent the enprmous 23 weeks at #1 - a feat which "Lichter der Stadt" will most probably not beat, but still we can expect it to be one of the most successful albums of the year. The only other new entry inside the top ten belongs to Stefanie Heinzmann and her self-titled album at #8.
