(RiRi takes the crown again, while Nickelback score best debut)
Somehow expectedly Rihanna's global hit "We Found Love" manages to return to the top spot in Germany after it was dethroned by Aura Dione's "Geronimo" last week. Thus, Aura takes the runner-up slot, while the top three is rounded up once again by the hangover of Taio Cruz.
The highest new entry can be found at #6, belonging (surprisingly or not) to Canadian band Nickelback. "When We Stand Together" is the pilot single from the group's latest album "Here and Now" and follows the #3 peak of "How You Remind Me" from 2001 and the #6 success of "Gotta Be Somebody" from 2008. As Germans tend to like radio friendly songs, it's not such a shock that the extremely catchy "When We Stand Together" can be located so high in the Top 100. Last Nickelback were in the chart with "This Afternoon", which reached #29 in 2010.
Inside the top 20, new peaks by Adele's "Someone Like You" at #8 and James Morrison's " I Won't Let You Go" at #11. Lana del Rey's "Video Games" also continues its advances and is this week at #17. After I made a mistake to written the latest single of Kelly Clarkson off, this time the US singer proves me wrong as her latest "Mr. Know It All" soars from #40 to #18. This week also marks the first appearance of "Sky And Sand", the single of Paul and Fritz Kalkbrenner in the top 30, as it peaks at #29 in its 83rd week!
The second highest new entry belongs to schlager star Michael Wendler as his latest "Sie liebt ihn immer noch (DJ Teil 2)" arrives at #32. I guess this is the second part of Wendler's first hit "Sie liebt den DJ", which reached #27 in 2007.
A position behind, DJ Antoine's "Ma Cheri" skyrockets from #99 and maybe is turning into a worthy successor of "Welcome To St. Tropez". Or maybe not.
After crowning the Austrian charts for several weeks, local star Hubert von Goisern manages to finally break into Germany (after being almost 20 years on the music scene) with his schlager-rock mixture "Brenna tuats guat". The song enters this week at #37.
As they say, it's better late than never as Foster The People's worldwide smash "Pumped Up Kicks" finally debuts in Germany at #49. It's a lacklustre new entry, but the download charts show that it will advance further in the weeks to come.
And the remaining new entries with videos and some info:
67 Fii - Power To The People
86 Peter Maffay & Mandy Capristo - Die Zeit hält nur in Träumen - The single marks a fifth chart decade for Peter Maffay...
The Album Chart
Udo Lindenberg's Unplugged album returns to the top spot this week, with Roger Cicero's "In diesem Moment" being the highest new entry at #4 (the single with the same name this week soars to #48 from #97). Also new in the top ten are Frei.Wild's DVD "Händemeer" at #5 and Lou Reed & Metallica's collaboration "Lulu" at #6. The re-release of U2's "Achtung Baby" can be found at #10, a position above Florence + The Machine's "Ceremonials".
