Austrian economic news in a flash - December 21

IT services provider Brain Force said its 2009/10 sales decreased by 22% to EUR 69.59m, while the operating loss widened to EUR 1.65m from EUR 0.21m. Due to one-off items the company however managed to post a net profit of EUR 0.92m, compared to a loss of EUR 5.46m a year earlier. Brain Force projects to be able to book a positive operating result in fiscal 2010/11 and to boost its sales.

Raiffeisen Zentralbank (RZB) will not support troubled OeVAG in the paying off of its state capital, CEO Walther Rothensteiner said. If OeVAG wants to raise capital in order to return state aid, RZB will not take part in the move, the manager added. RZB controls 5% in OeVAG.
