German Chart Comments - Issue Date 3.02

As it was expected over the past few weeks, Michel Teló takes the crown of the German singles chart as his smash "Ai se eu te pego!" moves from #2 to #1. The song turns into yet another non-German or non-English single to reach the top spot in a country, which has always been open for global music. The hit has already topped the countdowns in Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, Netherlands and Spain.

So, Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" retreats to #2 after five weeks on the top, while the highest new entry comes in at #3. It belongs to UK casting star Olly Murs. His "Heart Skips A Beat" has already been massive in the UK and becomes the first single of Olly to enter the German charts with aplomb. Apart from Leona Lewis and to some extend Alexandra Burke, X Factor stars have never faced much of a popularity in Germany.

Further down the chart, The Bosshoss finally have their top ten single in their seven-year long career. Blame the Voice of Germany for that, but "Don't Give Me That" rises to #8 from #18.

Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa's party time song "Young Wild & Free" has found love in Germany too and this week enters new at #15, supported by the vocals of Bruno Mars. At the same time Marlon Roudette proves that "New Age", which reached #1 last year, was no one-off as follow-up single "Anti Hero (Brave New World)" arrives at #19. And no one in his native UK is paying attention...

German band Eisblume returns to the chart after the success of their first album, which have brought the #3 single "Eisblumen" to the world. Now, the Sotiria „Ria“ Schenk-led group has used the Yiruma's "River Flows In You" melody in their latest single "Für immer" which can be found at #29.

The remaining new entries with videos and some info:

31. Behnam Moghaddam - "Hurt" - The Voice of Germany performance
43. Eisbrecher - "Verrückt" - A second single of the neue-Deutsche Haerte band in the countdown after "Eiszeit" spent a week at the end of it last year.
45. Army Percival - "Seven Nation Army" - The Voice of Germany performance
55. Inna feat. Flo Rida - "Club Rocker" - This is the follow-up to "Sun Is Up", which reached #25 but enjoyed a solid longevity inside the top 100 and even ended in the year-end countdown.
57. Kim Sanders - "Killing Me Softly With His Song" - The Voice of Germany performance - Don't be fool by Kim's participation in the VOG, as part of Culture Beat, Captain Hollywood Project and Schiller singles she has enjoyed a relatively okay chart career so far.

The Album Chart

The boys from rock band Kraftclub has managed to bring some changes to the summit of the LP chart with their first album "Mit K", which flies directly to the #1 position. At the same time Blind Guardian's latest "Memories Of A Time To Come" enters new at #6.
