German Chart Comments - Issue Date 29.08

Blame it to the impact of streaming or to late summer laziness, but for yet another week the top ten in Germany's singles chart remains almost unchanged with all positions from one to nine being the same as last week. Thus, David Guetta ft. Sam Martin marks a third week as #1 with Avicii-produced "Lovers On The Sun". Marlon Roudette's "When The Beat Drops Out" is at #2, while "Prayer in C" of Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz is at #3.

Canadians Magic! and their former UK and US number one "Rude" moves up two to #10, while former UK number "Ghost" of Ella Henderson rises three to #12.

Beating on the #18 peak position when it entered as an album track, "Don't" of Ed Sheeran advances seven to #17 and becomes his fourth top 20 hit in the country.

"Good Kisser", the recently released comeback single of Usher, did not make it to the charts but this doesn't stop his Nicki Minaj collaboration "She Came To Give It To You" to appear at #30. Usher was last in the top 100 with "Numb" in 2012, peak #24.

The comeback single of Taylor Swift may have hit headlines around the globe but proving (for now at least) that she has never been such a huge star in Germany, "Shake It Off" debuts at #48. The singer has only five singles charting in the German charts.

The LP chart

German heavy-metal band Accept had to wait more than 40 years to score a number one in Germany with their latest LP called "Blind Rage". YouTube comedy trio ApeCrime's first album "Affenbande" enters at #3. Also new in the top ten is "Nur Die Besten Werden Alt" of metal band J.B.O. at #5.
