German Chart Comments - Issue Date 1.02

It's a third week for will.i.am & Britney Spears on top of the German singles chart with "Scream & Shout", while Olly Murs advances one to #2 with "Troublemaker". At #3, "I Love It", the debut single of Icona Pop in Germany moves up three positions and enters the top three for the first time.

At #5 slowly but certainly "Bilder im Kopf" turns into one of the biggest ever single of rapper Sido. The song is up from #8.

Further down the top 10, Linkin Park have their fifth top ten single with "Castle Of Glass" at #10, up from #18. Last, "Burn it down" reached #2 in 2012.

The highest new entry is at #12 belonging to Pitbull with the support of Christina Aguilera. "Feel This Moment" is the best scoring single of Pitbull's "Global Warming" album ("Back in Time" not included) and is his fifth top 20 single as a lead artist. Last time around, Christina Aguilera's "Your Body" peaked at #29.

In its second week Ellie Goulding's "Lights" enters the top 20 at #19, an increase from #26. At the same time, "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis is also in the top 20 for the first time at #20, up from #23.

At #29 Rihanna's "Stay" is steadily climbing towards the upper reaches of the countdown, up from #44.

The second new entry is actually the comeback single of superstar Justin Timberlake. "Suit & Tie" debuts this week at #30. Last as a leading artist Justin was in the chart in 2007, while "SexyBack" is his only number one in the country.

Labrinth's "Beneath Your Beautiful" continues its upward movement, this time at #31, up from #36.

This week we also have Nicki Minaj's "Va Va Voom" shooting itself to #34 from #52 (it's Minaj's second ever single as a lead artist to enter the top 50 next to "Starships" and its peak of #17); Rita Ora's "How We Do (Party)" is up seventeen to #40 (it's the third single of Rita in the top 40), while Avicii vs Nicky Romero's "I Could Be The One" rises eleven to #44 (the song is the third single of Avicci in the top 50).

The Album Chart

In the album chart Andrea Berg spends another week at #1 with "Abenteuer", while the soundtrack of Django Unchained is new at #3. The latest albums of Helloween "Straight Out Of Hell" and of Bad Religion "True North" are new at #4 and #10, respectively. Inbetween Leona Lewis' "Glassheart" debuts at #6.
