German Chart Comments - Issue Date 20.06

(Robin Schulz scores again, while Cro is Album chart King)

"Changes", "Waves", "Jubel"... the pleiade of number one electro-jazz singles continues this week with a new addition called "Prayer in C" of Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz. The latter is of course the German DJ who made "Waves" of Mr. Probz a world hit, while the first two are a French pop duo active since 2006 but it was thanks once again to Robin Schulz that they managed to have a number one with such an ease.

Thus, after a four-week run at #1, Cro's "Traum" slips one to two, followed by Mark Forster and "Au Revoir", which retains the third place.

Despite the awful performance at the opening of the FIFA World Cup 2014, "We Are One (Ole Ola)" of Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Cludia Leitte enters the top ten for the first time, up seven to #7.

The current LP of OneRepublic has already been responsible for three top ten singles of the band, the biggest of course "Counting Stars". Thanks to a re-issue and new recorded material, it now brings a fresh hit in the form of (the once again amazing) "Love Runs Out". The single arrives at #8 to boost OneRepublic's number of top ten singles to eight.

Going on with their climb towards the top ten are Jason Derulo and Snoop Dogg and their "Wiggle", up two to #11.

Managing to surpass its #19 peak from a month ago, John Legend's "All Of Me" is this week up five to #18. Shakira's "Dare (La La La)" rises this time one to #24, while the third new entry comes at #27. "Marathon" is the follow-up to Helene Fischer's extremely successful "Atemlos Durch Die Nacht", this week at #9, and is actually the third single from her multi-selling "Farbenspiel" LP. Yes, it seems that there are still people who don't have some of the songs from it...

The LP chart

Expectedly the LP chart is crowned by the second album of rap sensation Cro. "Melodie" comes two years after "Raop" and just like its predecessor sits beautifully at #1 with quite a healthy amount of sales. Rap duo Celo & Abdi are also new, at #3, with second album "Akupunktur". Jack White's "Lazaretto" debuts at #5, two places below the #3 peak of "Blunderbuss" from two years ago. Passenger's second album "Whispers" reaches the same #6 peak of its predecessor, while "War Eternal" of Swedish metal band Arch Enemy enters new at #9.
