Неудържим (2010) / Unstoppable (САЩ) - Who am I to argue that a film with a rating of above 86% in RottenTomatoes is actually bad? Nevertheless, I may be a minority but cannot say that Unstoppable was one of the stupidest movies of the year. Yes, it has a high-speed train as an antagonist, yes, visually the film is stunning, the editing is perfect (though I had a headache afterwards), the story, based on real events, is okay, but what Unstoppable lacked was a heart and worst of all there was no tension at all. And the climax was just an anticlimax, they easily could have started the chase with it. And let's say it directly - an unmanned train is not a villain, it is not a shark or a truck with a mad driver, it's just a f*cking machine. And don't get me started about the empty characters and the whole American heroes thing... Alexandra
неЧЕСТНА ИГРА (2010) / Fair Game (САЩ) - Definitely the more intelligent choice of the week, Fair Game is not an easy watch as after all it is a story about the Iraq war, the US policy and the mechanisms of mass media. However, the story is interesting, pumps with a lot of tension and shows real human beings doing real staff. Sean Penn and Naomi Watts are perfect, and despite that the film has one or two dragging moments, it has to be watched and lessons have to be drawn. Tandem
