German Chart Comments - Issue Date 25.04

For a third week in a row there is no change atop the German singles chart as the places from one to three remain the same - Clean Bandit's "Rather Be" at #1 (for a third week), Mr. Probz' "Waves" at #2 and Pharrell Williams' "Happy" at #3.

Inside the top 15 we have new peaks from Route 94 and "My Love", up two to #6, George Ezra and "Budapest", up two to #12, Coldplay and "Magic", up four to #14 and Bakermat and "One Day (Vandaag)", up two to #15.

A week after it debuted at #49, "Bad" becomes the next single of David Guetta to enter the German top 20 as it shoots itself to #19. The collaboration with Showtek becomes the 16th top 20 single of Guetta as a lead artist.

At #20 "We Are One (Ole Ola)", or the official 2014 Fifa World Cup song, of Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Cludia Leitte soars from #72 where it entered the top 100 a week earlier. It is the seventh top 20 single of Pitbull in the country.

"I Got U" of Duke Dumont moves up eight to #23 and improves on the #25 position where the song debuted a fortnight ago.

The highest new entry belongs to Eko Fresh, together with Frauenarzt, Manny Marc and Bass Sultan Hengzt, whose song "Joko Diss" comes in at #25. Rapper Eko Fresh was last in the top 30 back in 2006 with "Gheddo". His latest appearance in the chart is thanks to some sort of a quarrel with Pro7 host Joko, but for which, as I even cannot find the song on YouTube, I actually don't care at all.

The second highest new entry is courtesy of Rea Garvey and "Can't Say No" at #32. Rea's previous single "Wild Love" peaked at #18 in 2012.

Also on the rise we can find "#Selfie" of The Chainsmokers at #38, up one, and "Down By The River" of Milky Chance at #39, up five.

The Album Chart

This week Jan Delay scores his third consecutive number one album with "Hammer & Michel", which debuts directly at the summit. It is followed by (who else?) Helene Fischer and "Farbenspiel" at #2 and Abba's "Gold", which rises six to #3.
