The ten-week reign of Avicii on the top has finally come to an end with
the arrival of the latest single of Jason Derulo. "Talk Dirty", which so
heavily features the extremely popular in Bulgaria pop-folk rhythms
(the genre's called chalga) that I can't stand it, flies directly at #1.
This is Derulo's first number one in Germany, while the superior
"Breathing", which actually samples authentic Bulgarian folklore,
reached #5. The singer's previous single, and the first taken from his
latest album, "The Other Side" peaked at #35.

Thus "Wake Me Up" of
Avicii slips one to two, followed by Katy Perry's "Roar", which failed
to take the crown and is this week down to #3.

"Animals" of Martin
Garrix is this week up three to #5, while Woodkid's amazing "Run Boy
Run" shoots itself from #26 to #11 in its second week on the top 100,
proving the power of Vodafone commercials for yet another time.

The
third single of Imagine Dragons in Germany also becomes their third top
20 hit as "On Top Of The World" advances to #13 from #22, beating the
#20 peak of "It's Time". "Radioactive" reached #4 several months ago.

Last week Miley Cyrus' "We
Can't Stop" reached #16 to become her most successful song in Germany,
a feat which is this week matched by her next single as "Wrecking Ball" moves up from #25 to #16.

Also
new to the top 20 is "Hero" of Family Of The Year, up from #24 to #19
and already a candidate for the most surprising hit of the year, as well
as Alligatoah's "Willst du", which makes its indecent proposal for
drugs abuse at #20, up from #23.

The highest new entry comes from the
man of the moment as Avicii's "Hey Brother" enters as an album cut at
#24. Three positions behind the Swedish DJ, we find the return of Linkin
Park with "A Light That Never Comes" - a collaboration with Steve Aoki,
which marks the forthcoming release of Linkin Park's second album with
remixes called "Recharged". "Castle of Glass", the previous single of
the rock band in Germany, peaked at #10.

Also new in the top 100 and in the vein of Klangkarussel's "Sonnentanz" comes Klingande and the similarly great "Jubel" at #30.

German band The Bosshoss followed their #8 hit "Don’t Gimme That" in 2011 with two minor singles in the lower end of the chart but now the boys are back with fresh material and "Do It" makes a more respectable new entry at #31. It is the third top 40 single of The Bosshoss.

A position behind The Bosshoss, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis move up six with "Same Love", while the comeback single of Britney Spears arrives at #41. "Work Bitch" is the pilot single of Britney's eight studio album and if it does not advance any further for now becomes her least performing charting single in Germany (Smurfs' extravaganza "Ooh La La" not included).

Though they still have a long way to walk before removing the one-hit wonder stigma ("Pompeii peaked at #6), UK band Bastille are on the right path as follow-up single "Things We Lost In The Fire" shoots 21 positions up and is at #50.

The Album Chart
Since 2003 Die Ärzte have topped the album chart with every new release and now even the massive sales of Andrea Berg could not prevent that as their live offering - "Die Nacht der
Dämonen" enters directly at #1, becoming the fifth consecutive album of the band to do so, and the eight in their career. Thus "Atlantis" of Andrea Berg slips to two, while Schiller's "Opus" is down to seven, amid a completely new top ten. At #3 we have Placebo's "Loud Like Love", at #4 BAP's founder Niedecken with "Zosamme Alt", Avicii's "True" is at #5, while rapper SSIO's "BB.U.M.SS.N" enters at #6. Further down the latest offering of rapper Fler "Maskulin Mixtape Vol. 3" is new at #8, Jack Johnson's "From Here To Now To You" is at #9, British deathmetal band Carcass' "Surgical Steel" is at #10 and Elton John's "The Diving Board" comes in at #11.
