As Rihanna, Psy and Adele keep the top three unchanged, it's up to
Alicia Key's "Girl On Fire" to shake the countdown at its upper end as the
song advances seven to #4. This makes the single the third best
performing of the US star in Germany next to "Fallin'" (peak #2) and No
One (peak #3).
Following the use in a heavily-played TV commercial,
Gossip's "Move In The Right Direction" makes a fresh peak at #12,
showing once again the longevity the band enjoys in the upper reaches of
the German singles chart. Also thanks to the same advert, Laing's
"Morgens immer müde" shoots itself from #40 to #16. The song first
appeared at #14, before disappearing quickly from the top 100 and
re-entering it last week.
There are also new peaks by Icona Pop's "I
Like It" at #17 and Lenka's "Everything At Once" at #18, while the
biggest new entry can be found at #14. Mrs. Greenbird is a local folk
duo, who have won the latest edition of Germany's X Factor and "Shooting
Stars And Fairy Tales" is their self-written winning song. Whether Mrs.
Greenbird have chart future is hard to tell but having in mind that
no-one seems to remember previous X-Factor winners Edita Abdieski and David Pfeffer and the declining ratings of the contest, it seems that their success prospects are not too big.
The
next highest new entry comes in the hype of the final instalment of the
Twilight saga and belongs to Christina Perri feat. Steve Kazee. "A
Thousand Years (Part 2)" is the title song of Breaking Dawn: Part 2 and
by entering at #26 becomes the second single of Perri in the German
charts after the megahit "Jar of Hearts" (peak #5). The first part of "A
Thousand Years" failed to come on the list.
Further down, Max Herre
and Cro's "Fühlt sich wie fliegen an" is up two to #27, while Lukas
Graham's "Drunk in the Morning" enters the top 30 at #30, up from #39.
The Danish band is currently doing heavy promotion in Germany.
At #35
British singer Birdy is enjoying her first ever hit in Germany as
"People Help The People" climbs 21 positions. At the same time her
first-ever single "Skinny Love" comes in this week at #81.
In their
second week wingenfelder:Wingenfelder are up one notch to #36 with "Wenn
die Zeit kommt", while Chima's "Ausflug ins Blaue" is up two to #39.
Just
in front of Chima enters the latest single of Chris Brown. "Don't Judge
Me" is the third single released from his album "Fortune" in Germany
after "Turn Up the Music" (peak #34) and "Don't Wake Me Up" (peak #11).
It's his eleventh top 50 single in the country.
On the hype of the
current edition of The Voice Of Germany, last year's winner Ivy Quainoo
is back in the chart with "Who You Are" at #49. This is Ivy's third
single so far and comes with the support of local band Stanfour. The
guys were last here with "Sail On", peak #52.
And the other new entries this week:
51. Melissa Heiduk - Send Me An Angel
55. Eva Croissant - Du oder ich (oder wir alle)
66. Nicki Minaj - Va Va Voom
67. Gil Ofarim - Iris
81. Birdy - Skinny Love
89. Jenna Hoff - Nothing Else Matters
97. Mrs. Greenbird - Falling Slowly
The Album Chart
Led
Zeppelin keep the top in the album chart with "Celebration Day",
followed by AC/DC's "Live At River Plate" at #2 and Rihanna's
"Unapologetic" at #3. "Girl On Fire", the latest album of Alicia Keys,
is new at #6, matching the peak of "As I Am" from 2007, while debut
"Songs In A Minor" remains her most successful LP, reaching #2 in 2001.
