Rag'n'Bone Man spends his seventh week at the summit of the German singles chart with "Human", followed closely by David Guetta, Cedric Cervais and Chris Willis and "Would I Lie To You" still at #2. One of the fastest rises of the week belongs to Clean Bandit, Sean Paul and Anne-Marie and their UK-chart topper "Rockabye". The song lifts #15-#3 to become Clean Bandit's third top-three hit next to #1-smash "Rather Be" and #2-single "Real Love".

Making upward progress in the top 10 we can find The Weeknd and Daft Punk and "Starboy", up two to #4, while Mark Forster soars to #13 from #48 to land his fifth consecutive top 20 single with "Chöre". It's the second offering coming from the latest album of the German singer, with pilot single "Wir sind groß" reaching #3 earlier this year.

Max Giesinger, who just like Mark Forster had a football-related hit in the summer, also joins the top 20. His newest offering "Wenn sie tanzt" moves up eleven to #15.

In the LP chart, Unheilig, one of the most overrated German rock bands (yes, I said it), scores its fourth number one album with "Von Mensch zu Mensch", which is said to be their final release. That deprives one Robbie Williams of landing his twelfth! consecutive #1 with "The Heavy Entertainment Show" (new at #2), which let's face it is a shame. Bon Jovi are new at #3 with their new LP "This House is Not For Sale" and Hammerfall enter at #9 with "Built to Last".
Although David Guetta, Cedric Cervais and Chris Willis led the mid-week chart with their "Would I Lie To You", it wasn't enough to eventually replace Rag'n'Bone Man at the top of the singles countdown in Germany and "Human" of the British singer stays there for the sixth time in a row. "Would I Lie To You" sticks to #2, while Sia's "The Greatest" remains at #3 in what is more or less unchanged top ten.

"Starboy" of The Weeknd and Daft Punk manages to gain a position to a new peak at #6, while James Arthur scores his second ever top ten single in the shape of his comeback offering "Say You Won't Let Go", which jumps 12 places to #9. His debut "Impossible" peaked at #5 in May 2013.

"Rockabye" of Clean Bandit enters the top 20 in its second week on the list as it rises #28-#15. Kungs is also up, by one to #16, with "Don't You Know". Zara Larsson's "Ain't My Fault" advances #18-#17.
The success of German rap songs seems unstoppable for the time being (look at RAF Camora and Bonez MC) and is this week proven by the top 20 entry of "Kokaina" of Miami Yacine, which is the first song for the artist in the chart and climbs four to #19.

Lost Frequencies' "What is Love 2016" continues its ascent, this week up three to #24. Max Giesinger is also on the right path with "Wenn sie tanzt", up five to #26. Anne-Marie, who is also under the spotlight due to her vocal part in Clean Bandit's "Rockabye", enters the top 30 at #27, up five.

The girl power of Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj can be sensed at #28 as "Side to Side" advances five, while Shawn Mendes is at #29 with "Mercy", the follow-up to his hit "Treat You Better", up seven.
There's a fresh peak for Elle Goulding and "Still Falling for You" at #33, up one. At the same time Maroon 5 return to the top 40 with "Don't Wanna Know". The song moves up seven to #35. The guys were last in the top 40 with "Animals" (peak #11) in 2014.

The new entries this time around are led by Drake and "Fake Love" debuting at #54, which may or may not be the new "One Dance". Starley's "Call On Me" is new at #64, while Jonas Blue has cooked up another hit with "By Your Side" (new at #82). Dat Adam's "Hydra 3D" appears at #87 and Bebe Rexha enters at #90 with "I Got You". The viral craziness that is "Juju on that Beat" comes in at #93.

The foray of new albums in the album chart continues this week, with Böhse Onkels scoring their sixth consecutive number one with "Memento". The MTV Unplugged of German legend Westernhagen arrives at #2, though it's going to sell well just before the Christmas holidays. Rapper Kool Savas is also on top form as "Essahdamus" is new at #3. Ina Müller's "Ich bin die" comes in at #4, followed by Dat Adam and "Hydra 3D" at #5.

Also on the right track is James Arthur's latest "Say You Won't Let Go". It jumps ten to #21. Thanks to his appearance on the ARD show "Schlagerboom" and to a new MTV Unplugged version, Andreas Gabalier's "Hulapalu" soars to #24 from #61 in its 44th week on the countdown. It's definitely one of the hits of the year although never reaching more than #13.

"What Is Love 2016" of Lost Frequencies enters the top 30 at #27, up from #39, while the highest new entry belongs to British (now) trio Clean Bandit with the help of Sean Paul & Anne-Marie. Their new offering "Rockabye" comes in at #28, managing to considerably improve on the #95 peak of previous single "Tears", which although becoming a major hit in the UK was a great disappointment in Germany. Clean Bandit's most successful singles in this country are "Rather Be" and "Real Love", reaching #2 and #1, respectively.

Max Giesinger had one of the football-related hits this year with "80 Millionen" (peak #2), while its follow-up named "Wenn sie tanzt" enters the top 40 this week at #31, up by thirteen positions. Anne-Marie, who has provided vocals to the aforementioned Clean Bandit's track, registers a new peak with her own "Alarm" at #32, up three.

And while we wait for LP and her massive "Lost on You" to finally storm the top 40 next week, let's take a look at the remaining new entries. Rapper KC Rebell has a new track at #49 called "Mosquitos", Böhse Onkelz, who used to debut at #2 in the past, have to be now content with #58 where "Irgendwas für nichts" lands. Maite Kelly, she of the Kelly Family fame, was also one of the participants in the "Schlagerboom" and duly her single "Sieben Leben für dich" is new at #60. It's good to see Mark Forster back in the chart with "Chöre" at #72, an album track of Robbie Williams appears at #74 called "Love My Life", while Philipp Poisel's "Bis ans Ende der Hölle" is at #83. There's also a new song by Kungs as "I Feel So Bad" arrives at #89.

It's the aforementioned Tim Bendzko who scores his second consecutive number one album with "Immer noch Mensch" debuting straight and deservingly at the top. He thus beats rapper Olexesh and his best effort so far "Makadam" at #2. In another week full of new releases Korn return to form with "The Serenity of Suffering" at #3, while Michael Buble continues to be big with "Nobody But Me" entering at #4 just in time for the Christmas sales. Leonard Cohen has a new album at #5 with "You Want It Darker". Thus "Joanne", the longly anticipated new album of (once) superstar Lady Gaga, manages to arrive no higher than #6. Local sensation Oonagh is new at #7 with "Märchen enden gut" and local rapper M.I.K.I. debuts at #9 with sophomore album "Kurvenmukke".
It has taken some time but my German chart comments are finally back with Imany long not being #1 with that honour now belonging to British newcomer Rag'N'Bone Man and his enormously popular "Human". It spends its fourth week as Germany's most purchased and streamed single.

Finding some inner strength and managing to climb three to #2 for the first time ever, US band Disturbed cement the status of their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's classic "The Sound of Silence" as one of the hits of 2016.

Hot on the steps of her number one smash "Cheap Thrills", the Australian superstar Sia returns to the top three for the third time in her career with "The Greatest". It is up one to #3.

David Guetta, the man who is responsible for not one but two of Sia's biggest hits, has done it again, having a big smash on his hands with "Would I Lie To You". The song samples Charles and Eddie's 1992 #1 hit of the same name, and comes with the support of Cedric Cervais and Chris Willis. By rising seven to #4, it duly becomes Guetta's twelfth single to enter the top five.

Entering the top 20 for the first time are Lil' Kleine and Ronnie Flex, who may sound unfamiliar as names in the music business, but are more or less quite big on their Dutch home market. Here they have found success singing in German and "Stoff & Schnapps" rises eleven to #17.

French producer Kungs is ready with the follow-up to his hugely successful "This Girl" (peak #1) as "Don't You Know" gatecrashes the top 30 by moving up from #36 to #23.

Coinciding with the recent resurgence of interest in singles by German rappers (blame Bonez MC and RAF Camora), veteran Kool Savas (with the help of heavyweight names such as Sido, Azad and Adesse) returns to the top 100 after a two-year absence. "Triumph" becomes the highest new entry for the week and lands at #28.
Following a slow start, Tim Bendzko deservingly enters the top 30 with his comeback offering "Keine Maschine". The song inches up two to #29.

"Say You Won't Let Go", the comeback single of James Arthur which managed to top the UK chart for four consecutive weeks, is turning big in Germany as well. It moves up ten to #31. James' debut "Impossible" reached #5 in the country some four years ago.

At #39 Belgian producer and DJ Lost Frequencies climbs three with his latest single - What Is Love, a take on Haddaway's 90s classic that reached #2 in 1992.

Not satisfied with the huge success of "Closer" and "Don't Let Me Down", The Chainsmokers are ready to do it again with "All We Know". The latter jumps 12 to #40.
The remaining new entries this week include the return of Maroon 5 and "Don't Wanna Know" (#65), taken from the soundtrack of a new game, A R I Z O N A's "I Was Wrong" (#86) and Alle Farben follows his top ten hit "Please Tell Rosie" with "Bad Ideas" (#89). UK's new #1 "Shout Out To My Ex" of Little Mix manages to impress (suprisingly) Germany as well. It is at #98. Another big hit in the UK - "Sexual" of Swedish produce Neiked is at #100.

We're currently in the time of the year when everyone is fighting to put their new albums on the market, just ahead of the lucrative Christmas sales, which translates into eight new titles in this week's top ten. They are led by local singer Clueso and his second consecutive number one LP called "Neuanfang". Kings of Leon's "Walls" is new at #2, three years after "Mechanical Bull" also reached #2. German supestars (why!) Santiano return with a new version of their last-year charttopper "Von Liebe, Tod und Freiheit" at #3. Rapper Kayef's sophomore LP "Chaos" finds its way to #4, while the Singles collection of Phil Collins is at #5. Maite Kelly, hands up if you remember fondly The Kelly Family, has turned to the dark side with her first schlager album "Sieben Leben fuer dich" at #8. The latest from Fritz Kalkbrenner "Grand Depart" arrives at #9, while Katie Melua's "In Winter" is at #10.

Artists singing in German are so rare to be seen in the more respected end of the chart these days, that we can more than welcome the return of Sportfreunde Stiller in the top 20 with "Das Geschenk" at #15. The single heralds the release of the boys' new album and arrives three years after their last chart entry "New York, Rio, Rosenheim". It's the seventh top 20 single of the band.

After it stalled around the #18 position for the past couple of weeks, "Final Song" of MØ manages to advance two notches to #16, while Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha enter the top 20 at #19 with "In The Name Of Love", up five. It's thus the second single of Martin Garrix in the top 20, next to his "Animals", which reached #4 in 2013 before spending 56 weeks in the top 100. Bebe Rexha has been in the top 20 twice before, providing support to David Guetta's "Hey Mama" (peak #9) and G-Eazy's "Me, Myself & I" (peak #7).

Although the name of Wincent Weiss may sound unfamiliar, the German singer has already had great success by providing vocals to Gestört aber Geil's 2015 megahit "Unter meiner Haut". Now Wincent is ready to storm the top 40 completely on his own. The song is called "Musik sein" and can be found at #38, up from #45.

The remaining new entries are led by the 2016 version of "Where Is The Love", the number-one smash of Black Eyed Peas from 2003. The charity release enters at #39. There is another new song of Bonez MC & RAF Camora entering at #44, while the surprising new offering of Swedish supernova Zara Larsson "Ain't My Fault" starts its chart career at #46. Clueso and Tim Bendzko return to the countdown at #48 and #55 with "Neuanfang" and "Keine Maschine" to prove that German male singers still have power in them. They should however have landed higher. Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj's "Side To Side" appears at #69, while Sia's "The Greatest" comes in at #76 with not so bad prospects to join the top 40 soon. Another hit is cooking at #89 where actress and occasional singer Hailee Steinfeld joins forces with Grey and Zedd in the shape of "Starving".

German rappers take control over the album chart with Fler's latest "Vibe" entering directly at #1 to become his second number-one LP. In his long career Fler is still to miss the top ten. Last week's winners - Beginner slip one to #2 with "Advanced Chemistry". Rapper Kay One returns to the chart with his latest "Der Junge von Damals" at #3 and his colleague Herzog scores a career best with "Vollbluthustler" at #4. Also new inside the top 10 are "The Good Life", the newest release of Till Broenner at #6, and "Bad Vibrations" of US hardcore band A Day To Remember at #7. And finally, let's spare a thought of the disastrous performance of Britney Spears' "Glory", which plummets from #3 to #42....
Imany remains on top of the German singles chart for a ninth week with her summer smash "Don't Be So Shy", while at #2 DJ Snake ft. Justin Bieber replace Major Lazer ft. Justin Bieber with "Let Me Love You", up from #4. Felix Jaehn and Alma stick around at #3 with their "Bonfire".

It's up two to #5 for "The Ocean", the summer anthem of Swedish DJ Mike Perry with the vocals of Shy Martin. The Chainsomers & Halsey enter the top ten with "Closer" at #6, up from #12. The song already topped the countdowns in the USA, UK, Australia and many more, so maybe Germany will follow suit over the next weeks.

This week's new entries are led by "Bang" of local rapper ApeCrime at #38. The previous single of the artist spent only a week in the top 100 despite entering at #12. The release of the new album of German hip hop trio Beginner has prompted the interest in many of its tracks and eight of them, plus the two singles taken from the LP, find their way into the top 100. The remaining new entries belong to rappers Hanybal and Bonez MC and "Baller los" at #96 and of controversial TV host and comedian Jan Böhmermann under his artistic pseudonym POL1Z1STENS0HN. The song is called "Blasserdünnerjunge macht sein Job" and is at #99, a far cry from his previous and only chart entry so far - "Ich hab Polizei" (peak #10).

13 years were necessary for Beginner to release a new album and to follow the number one success of their third effort "Blast Action Heroes". So, "Advanced Chemistry" of Jan Delay, Denyo and DJ Mad, once known as Absolute Beginner, enters directly at the summit of the album chart. German heavy metal veterans Running Wild trace back their origins in 1976 but have never before managed to enter the top ten. This changes as their new album "Rapid Foray" shoots itself directly at #2. Blame it to the fact that less people buy LPs nowadays or to some surprisingly rekindled interest, but Britney Spears manages to return to the top three for the first time in 13 years with her latest "Glory". She, however, continues to be in a desperate need of a hit single. "Decision Day" of Sodom is new at #7, while "Narben" of rapper Crystal F is at #10.
Imany is far from being shy as her "Don't Be So Shy", in remix of Filatov & Karas, spends two full months at the summit of the Germany's singles chart. And it still has no official video... The song is once again followed by Major Lazor feat. Justin Bieber & MØ and "Cold Water" at #2 and Felix Jaehn feat. Alma and "Bonfire" at #3.

In fact, eight songs retain their last week positions in what is more-than-steady top ten in Germany. Fresh wind is only brought by Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, Logic, Ty Dolla $ign and X Ambassadors and their Suicide Squad anthem "Sucker for Pain" as the song shoot itself up the chart, from #17 to #8. As anticipated over the last few weeks, Disturbed's "The Sound Of Silence" has finally arrived inside the top ten and it rises three to #10.

"Heathens" of twenty one pilots, the other great track from Suicide Squad, lands inside the top twenty, up eleven to #11. It is the second offering of the US rock duo to make it so high, next to their massive hit "Stressed Out" from earlier this year.

The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey have already crowned the difficult-to-crack Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Closer" and they are now on their way for big things in Germany as well. The track is up eight to #12.

The highest new entry belongs to local rappers Bonez MC & RAF Camora feat. Gzuz at #26 with "Mörder", the second single from their soon-to-be-released studio album. The song arrives at #26, just a position above their previous chart entry - "Palmen aus Plastik". The latter enters the top 30 for the first time by climbing six to #27, in what appears to be surprising chart longevity for German rap songs.

Dutch DJ and producer Martin Garrix has cooked up another dance smash with the help of Bebe Rexha, one of the top newcomers of 2016. "In The Name Of Love" goes up to #33 from #54, to become Martin's fourth top 40 single in the country. It is the third appearance for Bebe Rexha in the top 40, as the singer gained fame with G-Eazy's "Me, Myself & I".

After the success of "Holland" (peak #18 and one of the hits of Germany's summer), local duo 257ers have another top 40 single on their hands as "Holz" moves nine to #35. And finally, although I don't expect it to rise any further (now, with the 2016 Olympic Games already behind us), Katy Perry's sports anthem "Rise" enters the top 40 at its rear end. It's at #39, up from #47.

No less than eight new albums find their way directly inside the top ten of this week's LP countdown, led by Die Lochis, the YouTube sensation from Germany and their first ever album "#Zwilling". "The Last Stand" enters at #2 to become the best performing album of Swedish power metal band Sabaton. It is followed at #3 by "Midgard" of local folk-metal group Faun, also a career-best, and at #4 by "Brave Enough", the latest from Lindsey Stirling. It is actually her third LP to peak at #4. The German rap scene is presented at #6 with HB13 and "Bang Bang", while Faun's colleagues from Feuerschwanz enter the top ten for the first time with "Sex is muss" at #7. The schlager and party genre is responsible for the remaining two top-ten new entries - at #8 we have "Das Beste" from Daniela Alfinito (she has had so far only one album charting in the top 100) and at #9 lands the latest from Dorfrocker called "Heimat.Land.Liebe".
